After graduating from Damascus University in 1981 and experiencing one year of general surgery residency in Lebanon. Dr. Yanes moved to the United States where he completed his postgraduate residency in internal medicine at Wright State University, and Hematology/Oncology at the University of Cincinnati, followed by a visiting fellowship to the bone marrow transplantation at John Hopkins University. After that he moved back to Dayton and has been practicing Hematology/Oncology since 1991.

Dr. Yanes is an associate clinical professor of medicine at Wright State University and is the Director of the Bone Marrow Transplant Program at the Miami Valley Hospital. He has multiple publications, and serves on multiple local boards, national boards, and advisory committees. He strives to provide quality and compassionate care and is a strong believer of empowering his patients in their health and treatment choices.

Dr. Yanes has been married to Dr. Giti Rostami since 1991. Together they have two children, Danny and Arianna.  When Dr. Yanes is not taking care of his patients, he can be found on the golf course or on the squash court.
