Dr. Marinella received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 1989 from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio and his Doctor of Medicine Degree in 1993 from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor from 1993-1996. He completed his Fellowship in Medical Oncology with Wright State University School of Medicine in 2008. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.

Following his training, Dr. Marinella worked as a General Internist and Hospitalist with South Dayton Acute Care Consultants from July 1996 to December 2006 taking care of a wide variety of acutely ill patients. During this time, he maintained privileges at Miami Valley Hospital and Kettering Medical Center. He also has been a Certified Nutrition Support Physician (CNSP) since 2001.

Dr. Marinella recently authored the book, “Handbook of Cancer Emergencies” published by Jones and Bartlett in 2009 and a two-part review article on Breast Cancer published in the journal, Primary Care Reports in 2009.

In addition to all aspects of general Hematology & Oncology, some of Dr. Marinella’s clinical interests include breast cancer, lymphoma, leukemia, critical care hematology & oncology, as well as nutrition support for hospitalized cancer patients.

Dr. Marinella is a native Ohioan, married with two daughters. He enjoys playing the guitar, running, and reading.
